Mob Tactics seem to be a name on people’s lips more and more of late. Already renowned for their own inimitable style of techy – yet very funky, dance-floor orientated drum & bass, the duo appear to be going from strength-to-strength with each release. Their tunes are already firm staples in the sets of Andy C, Friction, DJ Hype & Audio, to name but a few, and the demand for them on the DJ circuit is rapidly gaining momentum. Heavily influenced by the likes of Ed Rush & Optical, Bad Company, Konflict and Total Science, you can always guarantee a Mob Tactics release or DJ set will be nothing short of high octane.
Luke and Mark first met in 2009, when Luke, who was running the music department at Chemical Records, signed some of Mark’s tunes to their in-house imprint: RUN DNB. After instantly hitting it off and realising their musical tastes were so similar, the two decided to hit the studio in early 2010. The first weekend at Mark’s studio they managed to create ‘Gunjack’ and the following weekend at Luke’s, they knocked out ‘Stick-up Kid’ – both of which went on to garner support from DJ Hype, Bailey & Crissy Criss, and were subsequently released a few months later on Traffic Music.
Mob Tactics was born.

Fast forward a few years and the boys are in full swing. 2011/2012 saw several releases on the duos own imprint: Tactical Recordings – including the critically acclaimed ‘Kansas’, and a track for BTK’s Dutty Audio label entitled ‘Prang’. But it was 2013 that proved to be the most successful year to date. The dancehall tinged drum & bass hit: ‘Crazy Hype’, featuring ragga legend, Elephant Man, was snapped up by Playaz. Their remix of Cause4Concern’s early 2000 anthem: ‘Soul’ went on to feature in the sets of just about every man and his dog! Prolix snatched up ‘Grotbags’ for his Trendkill imprint, and the legend that is Andy C signed up ‘Wolf Trap’ exclusively for the sixth instalment of his hugely successful Nightlife compilations.

In 2014, the duo showed no sign of slowing things down. With their ‘Wasted’ EP release on Cause4Concern Recordings, their single ‘Joe Mangle’ for Ram, and with a DJ schedule that shaped up rather nicely, things went fast for Mob Tactics.

2015 was the year of the exclusive signing to Futurebound’s Viper Recordings with their debut single ‘Neon God’. Mob Tactics ended the year with the dancefloor aimed track ‘Rave Weapon’.

New Year’s Eve is over but not for Mob Tactics. They started the new year with a banger. Mob Tactics dropped their second Viper single with the harder, darker and dirtier affair in the form of ‘Get Dirty / Shark Tank’ which went straight to the top 10 on Beatport!
Watch out for Mob Tactics, as they prepare for another nonstop year!

April 20, 2016 – Whistler Junglists 420 Season Ender Bender

We’ve had a fantastic 2015/2016 Winter season and the DnB nights have been poppin off all winter. This is the last instalment of the Whistler Junglists club night for the winter season as we shut down operations until early summer.

Brukout, is from beautiful British Columbia. He got his start in DJing in 2001, and has become a household name in Vancouver, BC
Music has been a part of Brukout’s life for as long as he can remember, playing records at an early age with his parents. As he
got older, he naturally gravitated towards music and DJ culture, by attending late night after parties. Drumíníbass was consuming
Brukoutís life, but he never seems to lose touch with being a versatile DJ, mashing it up with ; hip hop, drumíníbass, dub,
dancehall, Reggae, Ragga, Electro, even some Classic Rock remix/mashups. Brukout has played gigs from coast to coast.

In 2008 while attending producing/sound engineering school, Brukout befriended Jordan Robinson, who had a similar taste in music.
Jordan was also a dj who went by the name Illikon. After college, Illikon went back up north to pursue his producing/djing in the electro
fidget scene, while Brukout continued to focus on jungle and drumíníbass. Years would pass and ongoing heart trouble forced Brukout back
under the knife. During the recovery, it allowed Brukout to really focus his attention on his music production. 2010 he dropped his first
solo remix track of Jeff Daniels & Tonye Aganaba – ìEverybodyî.

2011 collaborations started with Illikon forming a production duo named, ëSubdivideí. Since joining forces the multi-genre Subdivide
has released two Ep’s and in 2012, they had their first successful tour together called ëExtortioní throughout Canadaís beautiful west coast.

2013 was a great start for Subdivide collaborating with other artists such as 1updubstep and Kickshifta. When illikon had a horrible
accident and passed away in a car crash. He will be forever missed. Brukout, lost for how to continue decided to reach back to his roots.
Bringing new sounds and styles to his music with jungle influences. Look out for Brukout to be smashing records, and festivals across the
world for many years to come!

Dj Capital J has definitely become a house hold name as a top notch entertainer over the years no matter what country you live in. After 20 yrs in the music scene, Capital J has dominated everything he’s put his hands on since he was a teen. Battling his way through his teen years in scratch battles and competitions as Ontario’s (maybe even Canada’s) youngest protégée producing, managing and performing with a vast number of hip hop projects and major recording industry legends even before he was out of high school like Ice-T & Evil E, Run Dmc, EPMD, Redman & Public Enemy.

Soon after Caps shared the venture of producing and performing in the (MCA/Universal Records signed) hip hop/new metal band Genocide aka Face The Pain with his oldest brother Mic Fresh, which was backed with a number of music videos and concert tours. Caps also produced and performed LIVE with breaks / electronic act The Incredible Melting Man whos first EP release on UK label Dust 2 Dust Records debuted on DJ Magazines Top 70 charts at #13 with the bassline smasher featuring Selecta D-Red ‘Funky Plaid’.

His wide appreciation for music kept him locked on every sound that appealed to him, from hip-hop to hip-house up to breakbeat hardcore down to the rave then off to the jungle, Caps was on top of it all, mixing and producing oldskool jams that shook down the walls of London till there was nothing left, then eventually packing up his arsenal of dubplates and gunning straight for Toronto.
