The Whistler Junglists Podcast is the syndication of the recordings of music played at the, now infamous, Whistler Junglists club night at Tommy Africas in Whistler, BC, Canada.
Whistler has one of the most vibrant Drum & Bass and Dubstep scenes in Canada. This can be attributed to the fact that it is a resort town in which many of its residents are here to ‘spend a season’ skiing and snowboarding on our beautiful mountains. These residents, often called ‘seasonaires’ due to the fact that they are often just here for the ‘ski season’ come from all over the world. We have Brit’s, Australians, Kiwi’s, South Americans, and people generally from all over the world.
When a new visitor to Whistler from a country where Drum & Bass music is popular such as New Zealand or Great Britain come here they often ask: Where can I hear some good underground music like Drum & Bass or Dubstep? The answer to that question is definitively: Whistler Junglists Sunday’s at Tommy Africa’s Night Club.
Almost every night we play we have the record button on to capture the incredible sounds of all the various DJs who spin our night from all over the world. These recordings are then posted here to this podcast so that you may download them to your MP3 player and listen to them while shredding the pow, biking the gnar, or just chillin in the streets.
